A Look Ahead to Brno

A Look Ahead to Brno
In just a few days, March 5th, we will be heading to Brno, Czech Republic where we will be starting the next chapter of our journey with the Master author of  our life’s story. In the picture for this posting, you will see Joe and Julie Silby who will be our new team mates as we once again focus on Roma ministry in our new environment. Joe and Julie are sweet people and have 3 children at home. They seem genuinely excited about our move to join them in ministry. This is SO encouraging and refreshing! To be honest, it is a bit sad to think about leaving Romania. After all, coming to Romania and...

Between the Blurred Extremes

Between the Blurred Extremes
Lately I have been thinking a lot about the scripture and how it describes what salvation is. First, let me say that I am personally 100% sure of my own standing before God on this subject. However, due to various conversations with different people and materials that I have read, I just want to expound on the subject a bit. To me, there seems to be a wild extreme between the opinions of people that I have discussed it with. Now, I also want to be clear that I am not condemning anyone for their beliefs… I am simply thinking out loud to help my own perspective. If that in some way helps you, then...

Operation Christmas Child and Metanoia Church

Operation Christmas Child and Metanoia Church
Oh yes, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Braila, Romania! Today I had another opportunity to go with our brothers and sisters from Metanoia Church to distribute OCC gift boxes and share some songs and encouragement to a lot of young children. Several of the leaders and staff of the church came out to share in the Christmas spirit. Pastor Mezin led in some traditional Romanian carols and later I sang a traditional American carol to them in English… I think that some of them understood. Florin Gheorghe also said a few words to the children. If I understood the circumstances...

Operation Christmas Child and Holy Trinity

Operation Christmas Child and Holy Trinity
Yesterday, I was asked to come along to assist with a OCC distribution at a local elementary school here in the city. I have some portable sound equipment that I use in ministry and in this case, it was very useful for my friends at Holy Trinity to present a program to the group of kids who gathered in the upstairs theater area. We had a group of around 200 children with age ranges from around 8 – 10 years old I believe. Claudia Stefanuti did a great job organizing the event and along with some young people from the church, they presented some songs, a skit and a puppet show about the importance...

Metanoia Church – New Facilities and Needs

Metanoia Church – New Facilities and Needs
Our brothers and sisters at Metanoia Church have grown to a place that they needed to move to a bigger building. This is an awesome problem to have but with such a move and with limited resources, this presents a new set of challenges. This new building will give them much needed space for worship and expanded ministry opportunities under roof… and speaking of the roof. This is a good place to insert a BIG prayer request. They really hope to be in the new building before winter sets in completely… but the roof on this new building has a lot of leaks and they are concerned about how they...
