Old Fashioned Christmas Music

Old Fashioned Christmas Music
Ok, this is just for fun! Go to the full article to find a Shoutcast player which will play lots of old Christmas music. Yes, it is mostly nostalgic old secular music and some modern mixes but that is alright… most of us from the US from my generation will remember these songs. Of course, I am only providing an embedded player link so I have no control over the line up of music being player. I just thought it would be neat including this on our site the last week before Christmas. I hope you enjoy it and if you are not familiar with Shoutcast, I would recommend that you check it out. They have...

Music: All I Can Do Is Write About It

Music: All I Can Do Is Write About It
This posting is dedicated to all of my “company” brothers and sisters who hail from the South! Yes, the truth is that we are a different breed. Some folks just don’t understand that fact. I have attached an old song that I like and I hope that it will bring back a nice memory or two for you as you have those days (and invariably you will) when you feel homesick for the South and things that are familiar. Trust me, I know… I walked down that mental path just this morning! The truth will set you free my friend! (in more ways than one) So, if you are from below the Mason –...

Reboot (with bonus music too)

Reboot (with bonus music too)
This morning I was out walking with the Lord as is my custom. This time however I went expressly for a dedicated prayer walk… an old fashioned, soul searching, talk to the Father in earnest walk. Sometimes I walk and listen to music and move in an attitude of prayer and sometimes it just seems that I wrestle with myself and the Spirit. I am just being honest. Not every day is a hallelujah meeting and floating along in the vast Spirit of Truth day. I hope that doesn’t shock you too much. If you are honest with yourself, I bet that you know exactly what I mean. This morning as I walked I went...

Music: City on Our Knees – Toby Mac

Music: City on Our Knees – Toby Mac
Yesterday I was walking “in the cool of the day” with the Lord and listened to this song more closely. As I have mentioned before, I am very diverse in the type of music I listen to. I am not thrilled with all of Toby Mac’s music but there are some of his songs which really hit me just right, so to speak. This particular song has references to things which apply to where I am at and the culture that I minister to. I started thinking about the words coming through my headphones that spoke to third world missions and cathedrals. The general idea of the song (I believe) is about the...

My Diversity Showing – Get Down

My Diversity Showing – Get Down
This morning I was out on the street around 6:00am to go for a nice long prayer & praise walk… hmm, that sounds kind of nice! Usually I just call them prayer walks. This morning though I purposely wanted to just walk and listen to some more progressive music to sort of get the blood pumping, if you know what I mean. So, I chose a list of music featuring Toby Mac, Audio Adrenaline, PK7, the Newsboys, and a few more. As I was about 1/2 way into my 50 minute walk, “Get Down” by Audio Adrenaline started playing and I must say that the beat helped me step along a little quicker. Yet,...
