One Year Ago Today – CC.VA
Today marks a small milestone to some but a QUANTUM LEAP for our family as one year ago today, Dawn and I were heading to Richmond, VA for Missionary Candidate Conference with the IMB who are now our sending agency. In one year so much has happened… we were just getting through a very trying time concerning the loss of my father who passed away in January 09, we were finishing up all of the physical requirements that the IMB asked us to do in regards to obtaining medical clearance, we were praying and hoping that the conference would actually become a reality after nearly three years of working...

Gene Lamberth Shares at HTBC

Gene Lamberth Shares at HTBC
Today at Holy Trinity Church in Braila, Gene Lamberth shared a great sermon with us about the depth and greatness of the salvation experience. He discussed it in the terms of being saved in spirit, body and soul. Gene, whom we have had the pleasure of meeting and talking with about our ministry endeavors here, is a retired dentist from Texas and is connected to Diaconia Medical Center. He has been here in Braila for a few weeks now uplifting and under-girding the staff at Diaconia. He and I have had a couple of discussions already about how we might be able to come along side of them in ministering to...

Saying Goodbye to New Friends

Saying Goodbye to New Friends
Yesterday, Dawn and I joined several of our coworkers to say a farewell to the Banks family. They live here in Braila not far from us. Even though I didn’t have the opportunity to be around them a lot, it was obvious that their lives were a reflection of the love of Christ. I did get to have coffee with Wes a few times and have had a few conversations with Tamara. Their two young boys are precious. This special day was looked upon as a celebration of their service to our Lord and not a melancholy time of despair. Due to the many changes and financial hardships being assimilated by our company,...

Meeting of the Minds

Meeting of the Minds
Yesterday I had a good meeting with some of our friends at the Diaconia Medical Center. This organization is trying it’s best to develop a unique combination of professional medical services and a sincere form of Christian ministry. So, how do you go about that and achieve a good balance between the two. In our meeting, Gene Lamberth and Peter Dragusanu who are representatives of the clinic, expressed their deep desire about ministering to their patients spiritually as well as physically. I tried to give some input about our possible involvement as ministry partners.  So, the brainstorming...

Finding Mihai

Finding Mihai
Yesterday, Mihai and myself went to Cazasu to work again with a couple of specific tasks in mind. One, to find a man named Ionita who is interested in studying the Bible in his home. The second thing I wanted to accomplish was to find Mihai. This is a different young man than the one I have been working with… this Mihai was one of the first people that I met in Cazasu. He is an older teenager and likes heavy metal music. This Mihai said he had a different view of who or what created the universe than we do and yet he was open to talk about our view. So, I mentioned to him that I would like to...
