Podcast Three – the Nicholas Chronicles

Podcast Three – the Nicholas Chronicles
This podcast was recorded in mid November 2010 and will focus mainly on things which we are thankful for. There are also a few prayer requests and a scripture challenge. Toward the end of the podcast, you will hear some children singing as they practice to present a Christmas program in the poorest area of the city of Braila. Thank you for praying for us… we also pray for you. A BIG shout out to Mircea, Cristi & Gabi, Daniel & Rodica, Tal & Liz, Jason & Isabel… and more! This is the season of Thanksgiving for us who are from America. I know that we all have so much to be...

Harvest Sessions – Day One

Harvest Sessions – Day One
Yesterday, I had a great time joining my friends at Metanoia Church along with some new friends from Harvest Bible Chapel in Illinois as they started a 3 day conference on developing small groups within the church. (Please note the gallery of pictures at the bottom of this post.) Metanoia already has some small groups in place but they desire to grow them and make them even more effective. I was invited by Pastor Marius to attend these sessions and I wholeheartedly agreed to come. As an imb missionary, we are encouraged to seek out like minded ministry partners so it will be good for me to learn more...

Harvest Comes to Metanoia

Harvest Comes to Metanoia
Tonight we had a nice experience at Metanoia Church. When we got there, we noticed some American faces in the crowd. These brothers and sisters are from Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago, Illinois. They are here to partner with the leadership at Metanoia to assist with the continued development of the church’s small group program. This is something I too am interested in. The gentleman in the picture with Pastor Marius is one of the elders from Harvest who leads a small group in Chicago. He spoke tonight to the church about the urgency of walking a life worthy of our calling in Christ. His text...

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Ministry
On Saturday I went to the mission church at Lacu Dulce to help a young friend with a few things concerning their children’s Christmas program. Mircea Vasile is helping to organize this for the children and parents of the area. These are mostly Roma (gypsy) kids and this day we had about 30 or so children and some helpers. Mircea asked us to help with using a portable speaker and microphone for them to practice with. Bro. Marin was there too to help maintain some order and organization. I had no translator but things went fine. I tried to talk as best I could in a limited vocabulary and we shared...

Changing Places

Changing Places
This past week as we were in Germany for our conference, we met a lovely group of volunteers from the states who came to specifically bless us with watching over and loving on the children who were at the conference with the parents. This gave the parents a little breathing room to relax and share in the events more freely. This wonderful group of volunteers did an awesome job. Most of them were from Texas and I believe one or two were from the Carolinas. Jody Kennedy was leading the group and he is a veteran of organizing and leading teams of volunteer missionaries all over the globe. During the week,...
